Ino Sushi
If you are looking for the best sushi house in Japantown, Ino Sushi should be your first stop. Although the prices are a bit high and the atmosphere is rather formal, serious sushi aficionados will tell you that Ino Sushi is just about as good as it gets. Some of the most highly recommended dishes include the ankimo, the uni and the unagi. Ino Sushi is located at 22 Peace Plaza in Pacific Heights and is only open from 5pm to 8pm Tuesday through Saturday.

Suzu Noodle House
Suzu Noodle House has been considered to be the best noodle restaurant in Japantown for years and is the perfect place for a casual lunch or inexpensive dinner. Guests to can choose from three different types of noodles, including soba, udon and ramen, and a wide variety of entrees. Suzu Noodle House is pretty popular with both locals and tourists, so be prepared for a bit of a wait during peak hours. Suzu Noodle House is located at 1825 Post St and is open 11:30 am to 9 pm every day of the week.

Benihana
While there is no shortage of charming neighborhood restaurants in Japantown, it is important to note that even the locals prefer Benihana when they are looking for some great hibachi in a lively atmosphere. Benihana is best known for their grilled meats, fried rice and delicious sauces. The Japantown Benihana is located at 1737 Post St and is open 11:30 am to 2 pm for lunch and 5 pm to 10 pm for dinner.
